PM: Cash in on our diversity
By CHOI TUCK WO
PARIS: Malaysia can leverage on its diversity to bring economic benefits to the people, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He said the 1Malaysia concept should be seen not only from the cultural and social contexts but also from the point of strategic economic value.
Najib drew attention to the country’s multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious population which bore elements of Asian civilisations.
He said Malaysia could, for instance, turn these into strategic advantages to facilitate its relations with countries like China, India, the Malay world and the Middle East.
“Let’s say if China were to make a decision to buy palm oil from Malaysia, it’s the people who will benefit most, including smallholders and Felda settlers,” he told more than 200 Malaysian students during a dialogue here on Sunday.

With such sayings from the PM of Malaysia, I think the "1Malaysia" concept is making a very dangerous turn towards a unity based upon wealth. This needs to be thought through seriously, for the motivation and intention of unity would ended up based on economical benefits. This, I would say, is a wrong motives for being united.
What message are we giving to the people, to the younger generation? If I am not benefiting from you, then I'm not going to "unite" together with you? If he is of no value in benefiting me in anyway, then I have nothing to do with him?
Such corrupted concept!!! It corrupts the true value and meaning of unity!!!
If such is the concept of 1Malaysia, I don't want to be a part of it. I pray that Malaysia would not be led into such corrupted state of unity.

My Past 30 Years On Earth - Part 1
Beginning 10 years, playfully blur... no idea what I did in my first 10 years on earth. Mid 10 years, full of schools (2 primary, 3 secondary and 1 college), full of homeworks and exams. Full of friends, which I don't keep in touch very often now.
Last 10 years, full of changes (from company to company, from study to work, then to study and then back to work). Full of church, cell group, conference, camp and christianity, which I was not very fruitful as a Christian.
What on earth was I doing for the past 30 years?
Let me go repent, pray for forgiveness and pray for a purposeful and meaningful 30 years to come (If I live that long). Will be back to reflect on that question.

SpongeBob Behind Trush Collectors' Truck!
What is SpongeBob doing hanging behind a trash collectors' truck?! And smiling so cheerfully! The trash collectors are creative and mindful enough to use SpongeBob - "whom someone consider him to be a trash" - to decorate the back of the truck, and make him a blessing to the person behind him. ME.
This little scene cheers me up and make my day as I was driving home. SpongeBob made me smile as he is smiling so joyfully. And all thanks to the trash collectors.
For once, I enjoyed staying behind, following the trash collectors truck.
Just a thought...
The trash collectors are like God, who uses someone whom people consider them "trash," to bless those who are willing to follow Him.

Employment, Deployment, Appointment
Employed by the church, or deployed to the church?
An employment from the church, or an appointment from God?
It makes a great different in our attitude towards ministry and the way we minister.
Dictionary.com defines...
Employment - an occupation by which a person earns a living; work; business.
Deploy - to spread out strategically or in an extended front or line. To come into a position ready for use
Appointment - the act of appointing, designating, or placing in office

Imagine a hospital with sick people who thinks that they are not sick, and yet keep on telling the doctors how to be a doctor and what a doctor should do.
Hospital in a mess.
Doctors are frustrated.
Sick people ...

Finally! A Short Moment of Rain.
Yes! Finally there was a short moment of rain yesterday night, the weather changed slightly. There was, at least, a light breeze of cool wind. And I'm able to sleep well. Thank God!
Was not able to sleep well for the passed number of days because of the hot and humid weather. On top of that, I had quite an hectic weekend.
Friday and Saturday was trying to finish up the video presentation for Mother's Day and prepare songs for Phos Teens felloship.
My sister called on Saturday morning asking if I could make it back home on Saturday night to have a surprise birthday celebration for my dad. I could not confirm with her until 9pm as my conscience tells me I should go back no matter what. The speaker of Phos Teens fellowship hasnot finish his message even though it already 10.20pm! So I had no choice but to leave before it ends and I "terbang" in speed to get to my parent's place in time.
Next day, as it's Mother's day, I had to rush back for lunch after Sunday worship service. The lunch ended about 2 something. I got home about 3 something, took a nap. And I had to go pick up my parents and attend my cousin sister's wedding dinner. We finish off our dinner and left early my parent needs to attend another wedding dinner. Again in a hurry!
Then monday I need to send my sister to the airport even though I'm not too well.
So my whole weekend was hectic and i was tired due to not enough sleep and rest.
However, God is good. Thank Him for the strength!
By Monday night, I was very very tired but still could not sleep well. The hot weather!
And Finally! I heard the sound of thunder as I was praying in the Prayer Meeting, I knew the rain was coming, and yes indeed! Though the rain was just for short moment, but makes a lot of difference.
Thank God for the thunder that comes before the rain. Thank God for the hot weather that was before the thunder and the rain. Thank God for the sleepless night so that I know the strength was from Him. Thank God for discomfort so that I would appreciate what is true comfort.
JUST A THOUGHT...
The economic situation now is like the hot weather that causes my sleepless night.
The chaotic and messed-up government is like the hectic weekend I had.
I'm tired, but the strength for such a time comes only from God alone.
As prayer persist, soon there's gonna be a sound of thunder, and it will be followed by the rain.
Though the rain may be just for a short moment, but it's going to make a lot of difference.
It's going to bring a certain rest.
Do not be disturbed by the hot weather.
Do not loose focus in the midst of hectic weekends.
Know with certainty that the thunder will come, and there will be rain.
Are we prepared for the coming rain?
